The OCR 2019 European Championships are approaching! We hope you remember about getting your qualifications for the championships! We have already started the OCR season in Poland. We would like to introduce to you some of the most popular and interesting runs which qualify for the OCREC2019!
Barbarian Race is the quintessence of the OCR’s struggles. Distance from 6 to 13 km, the most beautiful routes in Poland and dozens of barbaric obstacles.
What is important, at each run in the “Elite” category, an average of over 300 people from different countries competes. In terms of technical obstacles, Barbarian’s level is very similar to the one that can be found on the route of the European Championships. Competitors, alike during the European Championships, overcome obstacles all the way (band system). Barbarian, however, introduced an additional innovation, namely an app for the judges. If the participant is not able to overcome the obstacle, the referee enters to the app his starting number and a time penalty is added to his account. The competitor is still classified as an elite without a wristband. Given that obstacles at the Barbarian Race are very demanding, women have 2 additional bands. As a result, they can collect two time-penalties and still will be classified as elite.
If we would like to summarize the Barbarian Race in a few apt sentences, we would get the following combo:
- Distance 6-13 km
- OCR-dream route
- Dozens of obstacles
- Start in the Elite and Open wave
- Unforgettable adventure
- Fantastic people
- Great fun
- Multiple approach to the obstacles
The first Barbarian qualifying run for the OCR2019 European Championships will take place on the 7th of April in Siemianowice Śląskie. 13 km run and over 30 best barbarian obstacles located in the most beautiful parts of Siemianowice. It will be what OCR athletes like the most: a murderous run and a lot of fun. When it comes to the race format you can start in the Elite wave or Open waves.
Take on the challenge of the barbarian leader and see that the limits do not exist!
