The venue of the 2019 OCREC

The 2019 OCR European Championships will be held in Gdynia, Poland.

Gdynia is located in the Tri-City of Pomerania region in Poland (Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia) along the coast of the Baltic Sea. Apart from taking part in the OCREC you will have a unique opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful, historically interesting and diverse area of Poland.

GETTING AROUND

FROM POLAND: if you are travelling to Gdynia from Poland, you can use various modes of transport including air (plane) and road (rail and car). The Tri-City is very well connected with all parts of Poland.

FROM ABROAD: If you are travelling to Gdynia from abroad, you can use various modes of transport including air (plane) and road (rail and car).

PLANE

Please find below a map of the airports in Poland. We would strongly recommend arriving directly to Gdańsk, Warsaw, Kraków or Katowice.

Arriving to Warsaw Chopin Airport.
What should you do next?

Address: Żwirki i Wigury 1 Street, 00-001 Warszawa

Chopin Airport is served by five public bus routes all with stops at Warsaw’s key transport nodes. After arriving at the Warsaw Chopin Airport, you should choose a transportation which will allow you to get to the Central Railway Station in Warsaw (Al. Jerozolimskie) you will start your journey to Gdynia from there.

(recommended by the airport).

Szybka Kolej Miejska (Fast Urban Railway).

Chopin Airport is served by SKM Szybka Kolejka Miejska (Fast Urban Railway). Line S2 (takes around 20 minutes).

SKM S2 trains provide service along the following route:
WARSZAWA LOTNISKO CHOPINA (Warsaw Chopin Airport) – Warszawa Służewiec – Warszawa Żwirki i Wigury – Warszawa Rakowiec – Warszawa Al. Jerozolimskie

Arriving to Central Railway Station in Warsaw. What should you do next?

There are direct fast trains from Warsaw to the Tri-City: Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot.
Please check the schedule for EIP or EIC train (the journey will take around 3:30 h). When arriving to Tri-City please take a taxi/Uber to your hotel or to the venue.

Arriving to Katowice Pyrzowice Airport.
What should you do next?

There are direct buses from the airport to the Katowice Railway station.

There are direct fast trains from Katowice to the Tri-City (Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot).
Please check the schedule for EIP or EIC train (the journey will take around 6 h). When arriving to Tri-City please take a taxi to your hotel or to the venue.

Arriving to Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport.
What should you do next?

Address: Słowackiego 200 Street, 80-298 Gdańsk, Poland

The Gdansk Lech Walesa airport, is around 20km south of Gdynia centre. You can get to Gdynia center from the airport using the following transportation:

Train

A train service connects the airport with the three cities of Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia although a change at Gdansk-Wrzeszcz may be required. Tickets cost around 6.50zł (1,50 EUR) to Gdynia.

Taxi/Uber

(takes around 30 minutes depending on traffic)

The easiest way to get to Gdynia is via taxi/Uber.

You are in the Tri-City (Trójmiasto). What should you do next?

When staying in Tri-City you will probably have an accommodation in one of the following cities: Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot. We strongly recommend using taxi or Uber during your stay in Tri-City.
